A student pilots view on entering the aviation industry. Topics include financing, flight schools, pilot life, and much more to come. Useful advice from someone experiencing the life of a student pilot day by day.
Hi Justin, Congrats on your commercial.. How's flying doing these day? I wanted to ask you how is the job market? Im about to go for my Private check ride and then jumping on my fast pace ATP to commercial and I have been concern about the job market for a commercial pilot. At this point I'm not sure if the option is to go with an Airline program or work for the private market. wold love to hear from you that are much closer than me. Thanks in advance , Jose
Hey Jose, The best thing you can do at this point is get your ratings and get your time. I would highly suggest getting your multi engine rating as well. There are many companies that will hire an F/O at 500 hours and 50 multi. Of course these won't be your airlines but many cargo ops and 135 operators are worth a shot. Another great way to build time is to instruct. If you got your CFI and worked for ATP after your course you would build time very quickly. What are your career goals in the aviation industry?
